Description

A Winter School on the topic "From Food to Health" will be organized at the University of Novi Sad. This unique educational event aims to explore the fascinating relationship between food and human health, focusing on bioactive components in food and their impact on well-being. The program will feature expert lectures on various topics, including the role of antioxidants, proteins, dietary fibers, polyphenols, and other bioactive compounds in promoting health and preventing diseases. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how specific ingredients in our daily diet can contribute to improving overall health, boosting immunity, and combating chronic conditions.

In addition to the theoretical knowledge gained through lectures, each day of the Winter School will include practical workshops, where participants will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on activities.

One of the key lecture topics at the Winter School will focus on the prevention and risk factors of myopia in young people. The lecture will cover how environmental factors, such as excessive screen time and limited outdoor activity, contribute to the rising prevalence of myopia among adolescents. Additionally, the lecture will also explore genetic predispositions, lifestyle habits, and preventive measures, including regular eye exams and strategies to reduce eye strain, to help mitigate the risk of myopia development in youth.

There will also be a workshop on the application of artificial intelligence in audiology diagnostics.

Participants of the Winter School will also have the opportunity to visit the audiology laboratory and optometry laboratory. These visits will provide a unique hands-on experience, allowing attendees to explore the latest technology and techniques used in the assessment and measurement of vision and auditory functions. The audiology laboratory will offer insights into sound isolation techniques and its applications in hearing research, while the optometry lab will showcase advanced tools used in eye care and myopia management.
