Description

Building on the success of the "EUGLOH Career Network" Programme “Shaping EUGLOH Career Network: Boosting Students’ Career Development”, this activity aims to further strengthen collaboration, co-creation, and strategic alignment within the "EUGLOH Career Network".

Location: UiT The Arctic University of Norway – Campus Harstad
Dates: 4–6 March 2026
Theme: Career Services – Students and PhD Candidates / Early Career (WP4)

Targeted participants: The target-group of this activity are participants working within the EUGLOH Career Network (Task Group 2 of the EUGLOH Workpackage 4) and staff members working at the Alliance Partner Universities institutional structures and departments related to career development, employability, and skills development, namely academic and technical/administrative staff and researchers and other institutional experts from partners who work in the area of employability and talent & career development.

Programme focus:

The programme will include interactive sessions, workshops, and discussions focused on:

  • Mapping career services and sharing institutional good practices across EUGLOH;
  • Exploring future-oriented career skills and trends (including AI, purpose-driven careers, and emerging policy signals such as the Draghi report);
  • Strengthening collaboration in doctoral and early-career researcher development;
  • Networking opportunities, including informal moments and a cultural experience under the Northern Lights (weather permitting).

Application and funding: Applications are open until Friday 14 February 2026

This Staff Week is formally recognised as an EUGLOH activity. Up to 25 participants and some additional speakers may be supported through the EUGLOH 2.0 project, subject to eligibility and selection criteria.

For selected participants, travel, accommodation, and subsistence are eligible costs under the EUGLOH 2.0 project budget.

Content and Methodology

Content



  • Mapping career service structures and practices across EUGLOH universities.

  • Sharing and co-creating good practices for students, PhD candidates, and early career researchers.

  • Exploring emerging trends such as AI, purpose-driven careers, and EU policy insights.

  • Developing proposals for WP4 activities and initiatives.


Methodology



  • Roundtables and participatory mapping exercises.

  • Interactive workshops and World Café discussions.

  • Short presentations and structured peer-to-peer sharing.

  • Experiential learning and promotion of networking among the participants: campus tour, light yoga session, networking activities.

  • Facilitator-led synthesis to consolidate insights and draft deliverables.

Motivation



  • Openness to co-creation, peer learning, and sharing good practices, commitment and engage fully in discussions and workshops and willingness to contribute to post-workshop deliverables as draft Good Practices Guide, WP4 activity proposals, and others


Academic / Professional Merit



  • Direct involvement in TG2 activities or WP4 tasks.

  • Experience in career services, employability programs, or skills development initiatives.

  • Engagement in initiatives aligned with student, PhD, or early career researcher support.
