Description |
The EUGLOH Certificate of Advanced Studies in Global Health programme addresses the complex interrelationships between health, the environment and society, which cannot be researched solely on a subject-specific basis but require trans- and interdisciplinary approaches. It offers highly motivated students the opportunity to engage in dialogue with different disciplines in the global health sector during their studies, preparing them for careers in study, research and practice to improve health and achieve health equity for all people worldwide.
The qualification consisting of at least 17 ECTS-credits over the course of two semesters, is completed alongside the main degree subject. It allows students to explore beyond the scope of their current disciplines and gain a broader perspective, increasing their employability in the future.
Aims
The certificate programme aims for students:
- To be able to outline the basic concept of Global Health and distinguish between other approaches to Health
- To recognise the intersection between health, environment and society and integrate the different disciplinary perspectives into practice
- To be able to apply different media skills in the process of acquiring and utilising knowledge in Global Health
- To be able to engage in international teamwork and assess the best course of action
- To be able to design a research project based on the interdisciplinary competences in Global Health To employ diverse scientific methods to solve Global Health problems.

Application
The programme is designed for Master students, PhD students or students in their 7th semester or higher in undergraduate programmes longer than 6 semesters (such as medical school, law, etc.)
The application consists of filling in the online application form and uploading the following documents:
- Current certificate of enrolment stating that you belong to one of the EUGLOH universities or any other institution within the CIH Network
- Short essay (about 750 words) on a given subject in which the applicant gives an answer to a subject knowledge question.
and either
- (a) Bachelor’s certificate including transcript of records or
- (b) transcript of records of your current studies (min. 180 ECTS or equivalent) for those in study programmes longer than 6 semesters (e.g. Medical school, Law, etc.)
For the essay please write a short essay on the following topic:
What are the implications of climate change on global health outcomes in your region/context? Please give a concrete example and a personal stance on interventions related to this.

The application deadline for participation in the certificate programme is 31 January of each year.
