The course employs a dynamic learning approach designed to engage students through a blend of theoretical knowledge, practical applications, and real-world examples. The goal is to bridge the gap between occupational safety, global health, and sustainable development within the European context, promoting critical thinking and active participation. Each session is structured to provide comprehensive learning experience through the following components:

Interactive lectures: Each session begins with an introduction to the core concepts of the day, presented through visually engaging slides, infographics, and videos. Lectures incorporate the latest EU policies and global trends in occupational safety, welfare economics, and sustainability. Students will also explore case studies from industries and organisations, providing a practical framework for understanding the application of occupational safety measures in different contexts.

Collaborative workshops and group discussions: Following the lecture, students will participate in problem-solving workshops where they will analyse real-life scenarios based on the day’s topic. These practical segments are designed to foster collaboration and allow students to apply theoretical knowledge in a hands-on, structured way. Group discussions will enable students to engage in peer learning and debate solutions to complex challenges related to economic, social, and environmental aspects of occupational health and safety.

Applied learning projects: Throughout the course, students will work in groups on mini projects that tackle real-world OHS challenges within industries. These projects will simulate workplace scenarios and require students to integrate concepts of equal opportunities, social inclusion, and welfare economics. By applying tools like the OÎNBI framework (Occupational Health, Inclusion, and Well-being Index), students will develop actionable solutions that align with European Union directives and sustainability goals.
