Join us in Porto at the EUGLOH Knowledge Transfer Forum, a dynamic event dedicated to fostering collaboration and innovation among EUGLOH partners and beyond!

This exclusive two-day event will bring together experts and enthusiasts from various fields to explore the latest trends and best practices in knowledge transfer. Participants will engage in hands-on sessions focused on technology transfer, career services, community engagement and open innovation, while enhancing skills and expanding professional networks.

Whether you're seeking knowledge, inspriation, partnerships, or new opportunities, this event promises an experience that is both enriching and energizing!

Please note that this activity is indeed hosted by UPorto, and will take place in Porto, with support from UiT and UHH. 

This workshop will feature keynote speakers, panel discussions, and parallel sessions where participants will work in groups across four specialized Knowledge Transfer tracks:

Track 1: Technology Transfer

The Technology Transfer Track invites colleagues from EUGLOH’s TTOs as well as other staff members involved in research and technology transfer to discuss and share relevant processes, tools, and potential events at partner universities. The Track will contain different elements:

• a session on best practices (based on an “open call for contributions”) to present services and local ecosystems at different partner sites, and more specifically in global health;


• an input by an external guest to present how a digital platform can serve to showcase the potential of a university (techno-push) together with industrial needs (market-driven); as well as


• an interactive session in the format of a World Café to identify further collaborations and joint actions in the field of technology transfer within the EUGLOH network.

Track 2: Career Services

The Career Services Track will bring together students and career experts from EUGLOH partner universities to explore emerging challenges – and anxieties – related to future careers. Through interactive workshops and discussions, participants will map key uncertainties related to digitalization, AI, and evolving job markets, including evolving opportunities and anxieties concerning international careers. There will be an overall focus on sustainability, while the challenges of global health professionals and the role of new medical technologies will be given particular attention. Hybrid attendance from industry and societal representatives will provide real-world perspectives and guidance. The activity will conclude with actionable strategies based on the partners’ best practices to enhance resilience, adaptability, and career co-creation within the EUGLOH network.

Track 3: Community Engagement

This track aims to facilitate an exchange of best practices on how universities engage with local communities of all kinds. Engagement may include outreach, participatory science, life-long learning, integration, and inclusion, among other aspects. We are looking for participants who are interested in cooperative, action-oriented, and social change-oriented research and educational approaches that support the societal goals of social justice and sustainability.

Track 4: Open Innovation

This “Open Innovation” track aims to facilitate the exchange of best practices and deliver motivational keynotes on innovation that is co-created with stakeholders and/or draws on openly available resources, such as open research data and open-source code. This track encourages contributions that highlight the use of open tools, transparent methodologies, and collaborative frameworks to drive innovation and create shared value for society and all stakeholders.

When you apply, you will be asked to upload a letter of motivation and your CV. Please indicate clearly in your letter of motivation which track(s) you are interested in participating in!!!

All are welcome to apply! Priority will be given to Master's students, PhD students, invited speakers, and track leaders.

NOTE TO INVITED SPEAKERS: Instead of submitting a long letter of motivation, please upload a short document briefly describing how you will be contributing, noting the relevant Knowledge Transfer field/track, if applicable.

Open Call for Best Practices

We warmly encourage submissions for Best Practices in Knowledge Transfer that reflect diverse perspectives, innovative approaches, and cross-disciplinary or cross-institutional collaboration. Selected contributions will be highlighted and discussed during the parallel track sessions and will play a significant role in enriching dialogue among participants across the EUGLOH network. 

Please note that this is fully voluntary, you are not required to upload a call for Best Practices in order to be eligible to attend this workshop.
