Workshop Details
- Trainers: LMU Munich and UiT
- Host: University of Szeged
- Target Group: Study coordinators, instructional designers, learning and teaching centre teams.
- Aim: By the end of the workshop, staff members will be able to implement the abc learning design method at their own universities
- Number of places: 1-2 staff members per university
This workshop offers staff from EUGLOH universities an insight into the ABC Learning Design method - a dynamic, hands-on approach to rapidly prototyping and refining courses or programmes. Based on Professor Diana Laurillard's Conversational Framework, the ABC Learning Design method is a highly visual and collaborative framework that enables educators to map out learning activities aligned with specific learning outcomes. Built around six core types of learning (acquisition, inquiry, practice, production, discussion, and collaboration) the method ensures a balanced and activity-based learning experience for students. Its simplicity and adaptability make it an ideal tool for designing or reviewing courses in a range of environments.
The focus of the workshop is to provide participants with the skills to run the workshops for others within their institutions, creating a ripple effect of expertise. There will be ample time for discussions on different topics, as well as time to practice and develop the methodology. You will get feedback form the trainers along the way.
We will then follow this up with a half day online session for the groups to pose questions having had their first experiences using this method.
