Around 200 years old, the Soares dos Reis National Museum has pieces classified as Assets of National Interest. As well as a remarkable collection of ceramics, sculpture, jewellery and paintings, the Museum's collection also includes some ‘national treasures’ such as the enigmatic Self-Portrait by Aurélia de Souza (1866-1922) and O Desterrado by Soares dos Reis (1847-1889), one of the most important works of 19th century Portuguese sculpture.
By looking at selected works from the painting and sculpture collections, especially from the 19th century, as well as the decorative arts, this visit will give us a better insight into the entire history of the Soares dos Reis National Museum.
This event is part of the EUGLOH Cultural Corridor programme, and the schedule is in Local time.
