In this webinar the participants will be introduced to the principles underlying the ABC Learning Design method, and how the method can be applied in course/module design and development.

The ABC method was developed at UCL in 2015. Based on Laurillard’s Conversational Framework theory, the method gives staff the opportunity to actively collaborate in creating a visual storyboard that outlines the types and sequence of learning activities in a design. The ABC method is typically conducted in rapid prototyping workshops, either online or face-to-face. With its emphasis on student learning, the method is a helpful means for engaging teaching communities in designing learning activities and aligning these with learning objectives and assessment types.

Since its inception the this method has been introduced to over 40 Universities and colleges throughout the UK, Europe and beyond, including The Arctic University in Tromsö (UiT) and LMU Munich.

The speakers are Kine Maridatter Dörum Maxwell, Assistant Professor at UiT and Lars Jansen, Digital Learning Specialist at LMU, and Ashley Haberman Lawson, Learning Co-ordinator at LMU. During this webinar they will share their experiences implementing the ABC Learning Design method and how learning design is established at their universities. The participants will be able to ask questions in the Q and A session. The webinar is moderated by Lorena Silos, University of Alcalá.

In the Spotlight on Education series, two EUGLOH partners share their experiences and challenges in education. The webinars are interactive and the participants are encouraged to bring their perspectives to the discussion. The webinar will be recorded and made available on the EUGLOH YouTube channel).
