This talk presents two university-level educational experiences based on the Place-Based Education approach. Despite originating from two different disciplines, with consequent differences in teaching and research practices, the talk will demonstrate the versatility and flexibility of using the exploration of local context as a teaching tool. Additionally, it will explore the role of the lecturer in this approach, which evolves into that of a facilitator of the academic and content framework.
The speakers are Isabel Pérez Cano who works with linguistic landscapes in her classes in the field of Languages and Translation at University of Hamburg, and Maria Johansson who is an expert on human-environment transactions in the field of Environmental Psychology at Lund University. The webinar is moderated by Lorena Silos Ribas, University of Alcalá.
In the Spotlight on Education series, two EUGLOH partners share their experiences and challenges in education. The webinars are interactive and the participants are encouraged to bring their perspectives to the discussion. The webinar will be recorded and made available on the EUGLOH YouTube channel.
